What are these Terms and Conditions?
These are the Terms and Conditions which apply to Res Populi Patrons and form an agreement between you and us.
By signing up to become a Res Populi Patron, you accept these Terms and Conditions. You should read them carefully before signing up to become a Res Populi Patron. We recommend you save a copy of them for your future reference.
1. What is Res Populi Patrons?
Res Populi Patrons is a scheme which provides an opportunity for the Res Populi Club of Spain (hereinafter ‘the Club”) supporters in any country to become patrons and thereby help us in our mission to promote the values and organizational principles of classical republicanism and support our commitment to providing the Club with financial independence into perpetuity.
By becoming a Res Populi Patron, you will receive certain benefits according to the Patron level you choose. You may opt-out of receiving Patrons’ benefits. In that case, your entire contribution will be used by us to support our actions and projects.
2. How can I contact you?
If you have any queries about Res Populi Patrons or these Terms and Conditions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our address is: Serrano 230, 6th C, 28016 Madrid, Spain.
Our Fiscal Identification Number is G88433420.
Res Populi Patrons will provide contributions that will be used by the Club to support its actions and projects. These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between the Club and each Res Populi Patron, including the terms on which a contribution may be accepted, refused, or returned by the Club. Contributions will be accepted in the form of a one-off payment or recurring annual payments made directly to the Club as described in these Terms and Conditions.
3. How do I become a Res Populi Patron?
You can join as a Res Populi Patron by filling in the registration form and following the instructions or by emailing us at email@example.com .
Payments can be made:
- by credit or debit card
- by PayPal
By signing up to become a Res Populi Patron, you promise us that:
- you are at least 18 years of age;
- all information and details you provide to us are true and accurate; and
- you will comply with these Terms and Conditions, and any additional terms or restrictions which apply to Res Populi Patrons which are notified to you.
4. How much does Res Populi Patrons membership cost?
To comply with the Fiscal Authorities VAT requirements, Res Populi Patrons membership payments are split between the value of benefits received and the value of the voluntary contribution:
- First Level Patrons – 240 € per year (benefits 80 €, voluntary contribution 160 €)
- Second Level Patrons – 600 € per year (benefits 150 €, voluntary contribution 450 €)
- Third Level Patrons – 1,200 per year (benefits 180 €, voluntary contribution 1,020 €)
For those contributing other amounts, the value of benefits received will be estimated based on the amount contributed. For those contributing above 1,200 € the value of benefits received is 180 €.
These membership payments do not include VAT.
We won’t incur any VAT on the value of the voluntary contribution.
Contributions are not charitable donations and, as far as we are aware, you are not entitled to any tax relief in respect of your contributions.
By becoming a Res Populi Patron, you agree and acknowledge that:
- any contribution provided by you to us is an irrevocable gift, subject to any exercise of your right to receive a refund as described below and our right to return any contribution at our discretion;
- the contribution will be used by us to support our actions; and
- you will have no rights to influence the Club’s actions and projects.
5. Administration of Contributions
From the moment the Res Populi Patrons membership payment is processed, we will be legally and beneficially entitled to the full amount of that payment and you will have no entitlement to the return of the value of the benefits and/or the voluntary contribution in any circumstances other than as specified below.
6. How long does Res Populi Patronage last? How can I cancel?
Your Res Populi Patron membership will start when we confirm your annual payment and will continue for one year (unless terminated by you or us in accordance with these Terms and Conditions).
If you choose the one-off payment method when signing up, your Patron membership will not automatically renew and will terminate after one year.
If you choose the recurring payment method when signing up there is no need to renew your membership as it will automatically continue unless and until it is cancelled in accordance with the provisions of this section 6. We will continue to take payment by credit or debit card or by PayPal (as applicable) on an annual basis.
If we change the price of membership, we will inform you of this with at least 10 working days’ notice so that you can choose whether or not to cancel your payment. You will continue to be a Patron until you cancel your credit or debit card payments or your PayPal payments. Your Res Populi Patron membership will automatically renew.
You may cancel your Res Populi Patron membership at any time during the year, and we will not continue to contact you or invite you to events. Unless you exercise your cooling off cancellation right (see below) or we have breached these terms and conditions, we do not provide refunds or credits for any Res Populi Patron membership which has been cancelled prior to the end of the Res Populi Patron membership period.
We reserve the right to refuse and return any contributions you have made in our absolute discretion, including without limitation where we believe that accepting your contribution would conflict with our mission, values or interests, and/or where, having regard to where the contribution originated or your intentions, we consider that to accept the contribution could damage our independence or reputation or adversely affect our relationship with other contributors or members.
7. Do I benefit from a cooling off cancellation right?
You can cancel your Res Populi Patrons membership at any time in the 14-day period from the day we sent you an email confirming receipt of your payment.
To cancel your membership within this 14-day period, you can notify us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will not be able to request a refund of your payment following expiry of the 14-day period.
We will repay any refused payment into the account from which the payment was made.
